Daffodils all around me

Daffodils all around me

You know what love is? 

Daffodils all around you 

They were droopy when it was cloudy 

Today the sun shines And they perk right up

 I want to capture this moment

 To share with you 

That’s what Love is 

So I cut several of them 

and put them in the blue vase 

you bought for me

 on the Oregon Coast

 where the magical glass blowers live

 I place them on the windowsill 

for us to enjoy for several days 

they droop down again for the very last time

 this is Love 

It is mourning those daffodils 

Now we sit

 with our feelings 

until next spring

same time

same place

And Love

 I know we will meet again.
