Heaven
I once heard that hell is wanting to be somewhere other than you are
So I asked the Universe, “Is Heaven wanting to be exactly where you are?”
That can’t be it
I don’t believe it would be wanting for anything
No, because that would be too shallow
Heaven can’t be something we want or don’t want
It must be there always present
Every now and then I catch a glimpse
Or feel it’s compassionate touch
It’s there in a laugh, a tear, an embrace
In empathetic eyes, patient ears
And an understanding heart
It’s the forgiving of what was
And what will ever be
It’s in the Mercy of the sunset
And the Grace of a Sunrise
It’s in the wind that lifts burdens
And the cleansing of water
It is there for me, whether I want it or not
Undeserving
Only if I will allow it
It is the Truth.
